St. Basil’s School was established in 2017 to address the educational needs of the community around Raxaul in East Champaran Dt., Bihar, a region historically underserved in education and development. Located in a serene environment surrounded by green fields, the school offers an ideal setting for holistic growth, making it a second home for every child who steps through its doors.

SBSR began its journey with 24 students, 3 teachers, and 3 supporting staff, offering classes for grades LKG, UKG and Class I. The positive response from the community was overwhelming, affirming the need for quality education in the area. Over the years, additional classes were introduced. Recognizing the need for continuous expansion, the school sought and received permission from the education department of the district and accommodated more students each academic year. Children from remote areas, often 10-15 kilometres away, attend the school, underscoring the community’s trust and reliance on its services.

Rooted in the principles of equality and universal brotherhood, the school envisions a society where human values are paramount, fostering a sense of moral responsibility and social commitment in its students. The institution strives to make education meaningful and relevant, equipping students to face life’s challenges with confidence. Aligned with the democratic and secular ideals of the Indian Constitution, the school respects all faiths and beliefs. Patriotic spirit is actively promoted through the celebration of national events such as Republic Day, Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanti. Special occasions like Teachers’ Day and Children’s Day are celebrated with enthusiasm, reinforcing the school’s dedication to fostering a vibrant, inclusive environment. The school aims to nurture a generation that is physically fit, mentally strong, morally upright, and socially conscious – students who prioritize the welfare of society above personal gains.

Guided by its commitment to environmental conservation, the campus is proudly a ‘polythene free zone’, promoting sustainable practices among students and staff. Additionally, every student has planted a tree as part of the school’s initiative to protect the environment and instill a sense of responsibility towards nature. We continue the journey guided by our motto “Not for oneself alone” and St. Basil’s School remains steadfast in its mission to create a better future for every student.
